The album is collection of new and old songs from Cliffs ever growing song list. A mixture of love songs, break up songs and feel good acoustic folk pop that takes influences from a broad array of styles and may remind you of Nick Drake, John Martyn and Danny Thompson as well as more modern artists such as Newton Faulkner. John Parker’s Bass playing and beatboxing brings something truly inspiring to cliffs songs. The combination of the two of them works just perfectly. The album also features Cliffs wife Jade Rhiannon singing backing vocals on Broke my Heart and Blue Skies.
The album starts with Be With Me, an upbeat love song riddled with self doubt followed by Not Enough, a break up song with a positive vibes. Make a Vow is about starting a fresh and vowing to make a change. Other songs of note include Stand Together about a missing person inspired by a murder mystery novel and New Destination about meeting someone at a party, the song takes you on a journey that really brings out Johns beatboxing skills!
The album also includes the bands first single Broke my heart which will be followed up with a second single Feels So Right on March 8th.

Ward and Parker are John Parker previously of JCB song fame in Nizlopi and Cliff Ward, founding member of folk super group The Willows. After being thrown together by Stu Hanna to form The Megson Band back in 2016 the duo now seem like an act destiny brought together.
Between them hold many years experience on the stage and are excited to be performing together. JP has worked with a huge number of acts over the years and performed extensively all over the world with acts such as Ed Sheeran, Kate Rusby, Newton Faulkner, Polly Paulusma and Jake Morley to name but a few!
After many years compiling a long list of songs Cliff felt the time was right to start going out playing them and John was onboard from the outset. The combination of JP's beautiful soaring double bass and beatboxing style accompanying Ward's songs and guitar playing is the perfect mix and is not to be missed.
“Your voice was sweet and joyful. Bass playing was remarkable. Overall sound great. Best act for me at the festival!” - Ian Murray, Ely Folk Festival 2018
Alternative, acoustic, jazz, folk pop with influences from John Martyn, John Butler, Newton Faulkner and more... Expect a diverse set from upbeat pop to soul searching songs of love and loss and all performed with fine musicality and a real sense of two musicians both performing in the moment.
"A fantastic duo with huge potential that are really extending the boundaries of folk; a must watch act!”
- Cambridge Folk Club
